U19 World Cup: India defeat Pakistan by 203 runs in semifinal

CHRISTCHURCH, JAN 30 (DNA) – India on Tuesday defeated Pakistan by 203 runs in the semifinal of under 19 World Cup being played at Hagley Oval in Christchurch.

India won the toss and elected to bat first, giving a 273-run target on the loss of nine wickets. Batsman Shubman Gill scored 103 runs while Manjot Kalra hit 47 runs.

Coming into bat, Pakistan team were all out on only 69 runs. Indian bowler IC Porel took 4 wickets over 17 runs. The winners will strike against Australia in tournament’s final.

Earlier, Pakistan routed South Africa by three wickets in the Under-19 World Cup quarterfinal at Hagley Oval, Christchurch on Wednesday.

Pakistan won the toss and put the Proteas into bat. South Africa scored 189 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their limited quota of 50 overs.
