Tareen disqualified on technical grounds, will file review petition: PTI

ISLAMABAD, DEC 15 (DNA) – Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf will file review petition in the Supreme Court against Jahangir Khan Tareen’s disqualification. Chairman PTI Imran Khan has directed Jahangir Tareen to continue performing duties as Secretary General of the party.

” The qualification of Jahangir Khan Tareen has been challenged on three grounds out of which two have been thrown out by the apex court and disqualification on purely technical grounds has been declared by the bench.”, said Central spokesperson Fawad Hussain Choudhary while talking to media today.

According to the details issued by party’s Central Media Department Fawad Hussain Choudhary has stated that Jahangir Tareen fell victim to the effort to create proportion between things.

Courts must decide cases on merits and must not be seen as “Balancing” their decisions; he said adding that it’s unfortunate that Jahangir Khan Tareen is victim of “Doctrine of Balancing”.

He said that PTI has decided to file review petition in Supreme Court against the decision of disqualification. “Jahangir Tareen was disqualified on technical grounds in one of the three charges against him.

The point under which Jahangir Tareen has been disqualified is a technical one”, he told media persons. He said the property over which Jahangir Tareen has been disqualified belongs to his son. “If he had to evade the accountability, why would he name the property after his son?” he asked.

“We will go for a review petition. The Supreme Court’s decision is 99% in favor of PTI and 1% against it.”  Fawad Choudhary said.

He maintained that overall the judgment of the apex court has vindicated Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf’s stance.

Fawad Choudhary stated that there is no comparison between Imran Khan and the Panama mafia.

Taking a jibe at PMLN he stated that whole lot of goons has fled to London while rest is going to follow the suit. He further said that the petitioner Hanif Abbasi lied to the court and the matter should be pursued.=DNA
