PHF writes AHF demanding all teams’ participation in Six-Nation Hockey Tournament
ISLAMABAD, SEPT 07 (DNA): Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has written a letter to Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) demanding to assure the participation of all teams in the Six-Nation Hockey Tournament scheduled to take place in Lahore from September 26.
PHF officials said Pakistan is a safe country for international activities and we had successfully hosted the World XI tour to Pakistan earlier this year.
“If any team is not willing to tour Pakistan due to some personal commitments than the tournament can also be postponed for sometimes but all teams must participate in the mega event,” PHF demanded AHF in a statement issued.
PHF said this event is very important for the revival of international hockey in Pakistan therefore participation of all teams is necessary in the extravaganza,” PHF said.
Besides Pakistan, PHF said other teams that were to participate in the tournament included Oman, Qatar, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Kazakhstan and Afghanistan.
“However Oman, Qatar and Sri Lanka have pardoned from participation in the event due to financial reasons,” PHF said.PHF said PHF will only host a full Six-Nation Hockey Tournament in Lahore this month.=DNA
