Pakistan vs New Zealand 4th ODI: NZ win by 5 wickets

HAMILTON, JAN 16 (DNA) – Pakistan on Tuesday gave a target of 263 runs to New Zealand in the fourth One-Day International in Seddon Park, Hamilton.

Opening batsman Fakhar Zaman scored fifty, while other Pakistan opener Faheem Ashraf could make only 1 score, after Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first.

Fakhar scored 54 off 75 balls before falling to the spin of Mitchell Santner. Harris Sohail also stabilised the score by making fifty off 74 balls.

Just as Pakistan seemed to slow down, Mohammad Hafeez and Sarfraz Ahmed lifted the score, taking it to 262.

Hafeez made 81 off 80 before getting run out, while Sarfraz scored 51 off 46 in the fourth ODI.

New Zealand lead the five match series 3-0.

New Zealand trounced Pakistan in the third One Day International match by a staggering 183 runs to win the five-match series by a decisive 3-0 lead.

Pakistani batting line-up stumbled once again in University Oval stadium in Dunedin on Saturday as the top order failed to chase 258 runs target set by the Kiwis.

Only four Pakistani players managed to cross the double-digit figure and the whole team was sent packing at 74 runs in 28th over.

In second ODI on Tuesday, the hosts thrashed Pakistan by eight wickets in Nelson. The second one-day international was evenly poised when rain forced the players from the field for more than two hours with New Zealand 64 for two after 14 overs in reply to Pakistan’s 246 for nine.
