(DNA) – Pakistan will strongly raise the issue of gross violations of the Line of Control (LoC) by India at the forum of the Parliamentary Union of OIC Member States (PUIC), which is holding its preliminary session from March 10 to 14 in Rabat, Morocco.National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser has nominated a parliamentary delegation, led by Chairman of Kashmir Committee Syed Fakhar Imam, for participation in the 14th plenary session of the PUIC.The delegation is tasked to effectively convey Pakistan’s point of view to the 54-member PUIC forum about the continued violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity by India, which has pushed the entire region to simmering tensions with a possibility of war between nuclear-armed rivals. The members are also tasked to take into confidence the parliamentary colleagues from Muslim countries over the measures taken by the government of Pakistan for ensuring peace and stability in the region.“On instructions of the NA speaker, two resolutions have been included on the agenda items of the 14th PUIC conference. One is related to the situation in Indian-occupied Kashmir (IOK) and the second on protecting Muslim women and children in area under occupation and conflict,” the statement read. The Pakistani delegation will urge the member Muslim countries to take notice of the prevailing situation in IOK and its serious implications for international and regional peace and security.Pakistan has been urging the world community to take practical measures for halting India’s gross human rights’ violations in IOK and suppressing the freedom struggle of Kashmiris.Pakistan asserts that Kashmiris possess their legitimate right to self-determination in line with resolutions passed by the United Nations Security Council.Around 100,000 Kashmiris have been martyred by Indian Army in IOK.
