LAHORE, JAN 18 (DNA) –  The Pakistan cricket team will face New Zealand in the 5th and last ODI match of the series on Friday.

Pakistan is likely to include Mohammad Nawaz and Aamer Yamin in the fifth and final one-day international (ODI) against New Zealand.

While the green shirts struggling to avoid whitewash, the team selection has decided to give chance to the youngsters in the team. The left-arm spinner Nawaz, who shined in PSL and T20 cricket, will be given a chance to perform in the ODI.

Young all-rounder Aamer Yamin is also likely to secure his place in the playing XI for the last match.

Opener Fakhar Zaman opined that the top order batsmen have not been able to perform well against the new ball. He added that they will try their best to register a good score within the first 10 overs.

The fifth ODI between Pakistan and New Zealand will be played at Wellington on January 19. It will start at 3am PKT. Kiwis lead the five-match series by 4-0.

Top order batsman Shoaib Malik, who took a nasty blow on head in unusual circumstances in the fourth one-day international (ODI) against New Zealand at Hamilton’s Seddon Park, will miss all next marches against the host.

According to sources, the ace batsman will not play last ODI and first two Twenty20s against New Zealand due to injury. Malik, batting without a helmet or cap, wanted to score a quick single against the spinner in the 32nd over when he was sent back by Mohammad Hafeez to avoid a run out.
