NAB chairman will have to explain money laundering allegations: Nawaz

ISLMABAD, MAY 16 (DNA) – Former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif while criticising National Accountabiliy Bureau (NAB) chairman said that by not appearing before the Senate Committee Justice (r) Javed Iqbal has insulted Parliament.

He said this while chairing party’s consultative meeting at Punjab House which was also attended by Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.

Sources told that the meeting discussed the situation arising in the backdrop of Sharif’s statement regarding Mumbai attacks.

The meeting also discussed party’s policy and future strategy, while matters relating to NAB’s money laundering allegations against the PML-N supremo.

Speaking on the occasion, the ex-PM said that the NAB chairman insulted parliament by not appearing before the committee, adding that Justice (r) Javed Iqbal will have to explain the allegations.

The meeting was attended by Maryam Nawaz, Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah, federal minister Daniyal Aziz, former foreign minister Khawaja Asif, Barjees Tahir, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Talal Chaudhry, Marriyum Auranzeb, Pervaiz Rashid, Sardar Mehtab Abbasi and Mushahidullah.
