Jam Kamal takes oath as Balochistan CM
QUETTA, AUG 19 (DNA) – Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) leader Jam Kamal Sunday took oath as the 16th chief minister of the province.
Governor M. Khan Achakzai administered the oath to the BAP chief.
Jam Kamal was elected as chief minister of the province on Saturday. He bagged 39 votes against Mir Younus Aziz Zehri of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA), who received 20 votes in secret balloting.
Kamal had the support of Awami National Party, Hazara Democratic Party, Jamhoori Watan Party, Balochistan National Party-Awami and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
BAP managed to secure four of the 272 seats in the National Assembly, according to the Election Commission of Pakistan, and emerged as the largest party in Balochistan with 15 provincial assembly seats.=DNA
