Francophonie food festival draws huge interest
ISLAMABAD, MAR 18 (DNA) – Embassies from the Francophonie countries arranged a food festival at the French culture center on Saturday. A large number of Pakistani and foreigners tasted various cuisines from the Francophonie countries.
Embassies of Romania, Austria, Belgium, France, Holland set up food stalls providing the guests with an opportunity of tasting traditional cuisines of these countries.
The Romanian stall perhaps was the must-visit stall because it offered to the visitors a unique variety of various Romanian delicacies that otherwise are difficult to come by in Pakistan.
The Romanian defence attaché Mr. Catalin and his wife Emilia served guests with homemade Romanian food items including cakes, pastries, rice etc.
Guests who attended the food festival termed it a unique event in the sense that those Pakistani people who cannot go to these countries, can at least taste their delicacies.
People appreciated the role of French culture center also and hoped it will continue to host such events even in the coming days.=DNA
