EU states all set to celebrate Europe Day festivities on Saturday

ISLAMABAD, APR 4 (DNA)= All 17 European Union member states are all set to celebrate Europe Day by holding a grand Euro Village gala, at Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA), on Saturday.

The European Union is composed of 28 countries while out of these 28, 17 are represented in Pakistan, told Ambassador of European Union Jean Francois Cautain while addressing a press conference at his residence on Thursday.

Flanked by ambassadors and representatives of other EU member states present in Pakistan, Ambassador Cautain said after successful celebration of Euro Village festivities for last two years, this year as well the member states decided to mark the event with a big bang.

He said security situation in Pakistan has improved a lot that is why the EU member states have decided to hold this event in open and invited everybody to be part of this event.

The representatives of member states on the occasion spelled out activity plan. The German embassy has planned a football competition also.

The EU ambassador further said the general public will be provided with multiple displays of Europe as a culturally rich and friendly place.

The EU’s as well as the member states’ stands will showcase the countries cultures and tradition, languages, food and music to Pakistan general public as well general information and children.

He added, the evening will end with live performances of European bands and an award winning European DJ. Pakistani artist Meesha Shafi will also perform as well as famous European illusionist Charlie Caper.=DNA
