Eating almonds every day reduces facial wrinkles: study

If you are looking for the best anti-aging regimen, look no further than your home pantry.

A new research reveals that almonds are the age reversal that you needed all along, not those expensive retinol-based creams and serums. The study by the University of California, Davis, found that taking a handful of almonds daily improves a person’s wrinkles, especially in postmenopausal women.

For 16 weeks, the researchers monitored 28 women, with sensitive skin that burns easily due to sun exposure. Every day, the women were told to eat almonds as snacks, to account for 20 per cent of their daily energy consumption for 16 weeks, according to the study published in the US National Library of Medicine National Institutes of Health.

“Almonds are a rich source of fatty acids and antioxidants,” the scientist noted, “and their supplementation is known to significantly modulate serum lipids.”

The study found that over the 16 weeks, there was “significant decreased in wrinkle severity and width.” Furthermore, no adverse effects were reported due to the almond intake.

“Our study demonstrates that daily almond consumption may reduce wrinkle severity in postmenopausal females to potentially have natural antiaging benefits,” the study concluded.

Basically, a handful of almonds a day keeps the wrinkles away.
