Chaudhry Nisar falls ill: sources

ISLAMABAD, JUL 18 (DNA) – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has on Tuesday postponed all official activities due to illness.

According to the details made available here, the Interior Minister could not go to his office today as he is suffering from severe back pain since last night.

It is worth mentioning here that the situation has arisen when rumors of Ch Nisar’s cold relations with PML-N are floating. Earlier, it was reported that Nisar had confronted PM Nawaz in PML-N’s parliamentary meeting to discuss course-of-action following JIT’s report regarding his policies.

Sources revealed that Nisar had told Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif that only a miracle could save him now from the turmoil that the party is in. “I always gave you sincere suggestions but they were ignored,” Ch Nisar said to PM.

The Interior Minister had arrived late at the cabinet meeting, and told PM that he and the party are facing difficulties due to bad suggestions and advices from some party members.

Ch Nisar had expressed his reservations over the way the legal team of the ruling party handled the Panama Papers case. He also criticized the speeches made by some ministers during which they used harsh words against certain institutions. He advised the PM to avoid confrontation with state institutions.

Sources further said that Ch Nisar walked out of the cabinet meeting when Federal Minister Rana Tanveer was delivering his speech.

However, spokesperson for the Interior Ministry had denied truth in statements of ministers and commentators over his alleged remarks during parliamentary meeting of PML-N.

Furthermore, when the name of Ch Nisar was put forward for premiership in case of Nawaz Sharif’s ineligibility or resignation, two federal ministers of PML-N openly opposed the proposal as they did not consider him a senior enough to hold the office.
