Pakistan joins Global Ceylon tea party celebrations
ISLAMABAD, JUL 07 (DNA) –Pakistan has joined Global Ceylon tea party celebrations held world over to mark 150 Years of Ceylon tea.
The high commissioner of Sri Lanka Maj.(Gen) Maj. Gen. Loku Katagodage J C Perera ® hosted a grand reception to celebrate the event in a befitting manner.
While speaking on the occasion the high commissioner said, the Colombo Tea Traders Association (CTTA) along with the Sri Lanka Tea Board (SLTB) had taken initiative to commemorate this historic moment with several events throughout the year of 2017, with the intention of promoting the Ceylon Tea Brand internationally.
He said, As part of this celebration, it was decided to conduct a unique “Global 24 hours Ceylon Tea Party” in every time zone from East to West across the World, with the participation of Tea enthusiasts and the media in each country in order to create heighten awareness of Ceylon Tea around the world.
The event provided the opportunity to taste the varieties of “Ceylon Tea” comes from the 7 different growing regions of Sri Lanka.
”I know that Pakistan friends would always like to have tea with milk but today I request you to try only the tea to taste the originality”.
The High Commission thanked visitors for attending the event in large numbers. He also thanked the members of diplomatic community who attended the event and enjoyed the Sri Lankan tea. =DNA
