Ambassadors of Czech Republic, Sweden complete their term

ISLAMABAD, JUL 9 (DNA)- As part of routine postings and transfers a few more ambassadors are set to leave Pakistan after completing their term.

Ambassador of Sweden Ms. Ingrid and Ambassador of Czech Republic Jan Fury are now in the line to leave Pakistan in a few weeks.

Sources say High Commissioner of UK has also completed his term, nevertheless his replacement has not yet been announced.

During past few weeks over 10 ambassadors have left Pakistan after completing their term. Ambassador of European Union Jean Francois Cautain is also leaving Pakistan on July 21.

While Ambassador of Tunisia and Dean of the African group Adel Elarbi will leave Pakistan in the first week of August. Similarly Head of Syrian Mission is scheduled to leave next month also.

It may be mentioned here that many new ambassadors have already stepped into shoes of their predecessors. Ambassador of Russian Federation has already arrived. He happens to be a senior and seasoned diplomat. This is his third term in Pakistan but first as an ambassador.

Ambassador of Kazakhstan Barlybay Sadykov left Pakistan only after spending one and half year. Normal term for an ambassador is either three or four years.

In case of Central Asia, ambassadors used to stay in Pakistan for years and years but now when leaderships have changed in most of the Central Asian states, the practice of keeping ambassadors over and above their stipulated term, seems to have been reversed, with an exception of Turkmenistan ambassador who continues to hold the fort for many years. =DNA
