ISLAMABAD, DEC 03 (DNA) – Ambassador of United Arab Emirates, Hamad Obaid Alzaabi has said that over the four and half decades the wise leadership of UAE assured all constituents to be future makers both during the era of the founding father Late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the persistence of this enormous development movement in the era of His Highness Shheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

He was speaking during a ceremony held to celebrate 46th National Day of United Arab Emirates at a local hotel.

Hamad Obaid Alzaabi said s that through initiatives and major projects with the participation of all citizens, in this regard, His Highness launched an initiative by choosing 2017 as a year of giving and declared 2018 the “Year of Zayed” to highlight the role of the late leader in establishing the UAE Federation and his local, regional and international achievements and to engage all members of society of all ages, groups and religions in achieving the vision of the late Sheikh Zayed locally, regionally and globally.

He further said, His Highness Sheikh bin Rashid Al Maktoum the Vice President, Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai recently launched another initiative by establishing new ministries which reflects the states endeavor to encourage citizens to participate in the elevation and prosperity of the country.

UAE Ambassador, Hamad Obaid Alzaabi said that the UAE Government was  aiming to make the country among the top happiest countries in the world by 2021, created the post of Minister of State for Happiness and appointed Sheikha Ohood bint Khalfan Al Roumi as the Minister.

Her main responsibility was to harmonies all government plans, programmes and policies to achieve a happier society, following the cabinet reshuffle in 2017, another portfolio was added to the Minister of State for Happiness to become the Minister of State for Happiness and Wellbeing.

In addition to this the ambassador said, it is worth mentioning that according to UN World Happiness Report 2017, the UAE came First in the Arab world for the third consecutive year and ranked 21st as the happiest globally, advancing eight ranks, the UAE would rank 12th globally if only UAE nationals were taken into account, as the sults for nationals and non-nationals in some Gulf countries with varying scores.

The UAE Government attaches great importance to the role of youth and their empowerment in order to enable them to shoulder responsibilities, innovate and contribute to the welfare of the international community.

The UAE made several steps to ensure that the voice of the youth is heard and their views are shared, a 22 year old Shamna bint Sohail Faris Al Mazrui was appointed as the Minister of State for Youth Affairs.

And Emirates Youth Council also established to represent the youth ideas, aspirations and solutions before the government, ambassador added.=DNA
