Afghan Ambassador holds important meeting with COAS General Bajwa

RAWALPINDI, MAY 16 (DNA) – The Afghan Ambassador to Pakistan Dr. Omar Zakhilwal met with the Chief of the Army Staff of Pakistan General Qamar Javed Bajwa after recent breakthrough in bilateral talks organized in the framework of the Afghanistan Pakistan Action Plan for Peace & Solidarity (APAPPS).

“This afternoon met Pakistan Army Chief Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa for a detailed discussion on some key current issues of bilateral nature including next steps on the implementation of recently concluded Afghanistan Pakistan Action Plan for Peace & Solidarity (APAPPS),” Zakhilwal said in an online statement.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan said Monday “In pursuance of the seven principles agreed in the meeting between Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi during his visit to Kabul on 6 April 2018, the two sides finalized the Afghanistan Pakistan Action Plan for Peace and Solidarity (APAPPS). This operationalizes the six working groups envisaged under APAPPS.”

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, APAPPS provides a framework to strengthen mutual trust and deepen interaction in all spheres of bilateral engagements.
