The court has rejected NAB’s request to confiscate Safdar’s passport and to issue his judicial remand, however, he has been directed not to leave the country without court’s permission. Copies of references have also been handed over to PML-N leader.

Captain (r) Safdar was arrested in the morning by NAB from Islamabad airport as he returned from London along with wife Maryam Nawaz. A journalist asked Safdar upon his arrival in the court whether he was tortured during the custody. He replied that he is not a terrorist who will be persecuted, and affirmed that he will face the courts as he has not done any corruption or money laundering.

According to details, the accountability court had issued non-bailable arrest warrants of Captain (r) Safdar and had directed NAB to arrest him, and seek help from other institutions as well if necessary, to arrest Safdar and present him before the court on Monday, October 9.
