RCCI, UK business council ink MoU to enhance trade

RAWALPINDI, NOV 15 (DNA)-  The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) and Pak British Business Council (PBBC) Thursday inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at expansion of trade and economic ties between Pakistan and United Kingdom in different sectors including health, healthcare, pharmaceutical and financial services.

 

Chairman PBBC Julian Barns and President RCCI Malik Shahid Saleem signed and exchange the documents at a ceremony held at Chamber house in Rawalpindi.

 

While talking to the traders, Chairman PBBC Julian Barns said the council wants to invest around $250 million in Pakistan in Health sectors.

 

We are looking forward for joint ventures in construction of 25 state of the art hospitals in different cities of Pakistan.

 

We are working with Government of Pakistan in identifying areas located near big cities and probably these facilities will be constructed around the big cities with all civic facilities so that people from the rural areas can get these facilities with affordable price, he added.

 

He said both PBBC and PSBC are committed to encouraging and supporting small and medium-sized enterprises as they are a significant contributor to the wider economy. Our SME programme offers tailored support and advice for small and medium size businesses with our forums and events.

 

He appreciated RCCI efforts and its active role for promoting trade ties between Pakistan and UK through exhibitions. He referred to RCCI Birmingham business conference and expo and said that such interaction gave us big confidence and hence we landed first in your office for business to business meetings and future endeavors.

 

RCCI President Malik Shahid Saleem termed these MOU a great success and said Pakistan’s economy offered great potential to Britain investors for joint ventures and investments. =DNA
