Farmers to use Drone Technology in Pakistan for Good Yield

LAHORE, DEC 18 (DNA) – Now-a-days agro-ecosystems are facing serious threats and risks associated with crop production. These risks and uncertainties in crop production will be more in future as global climate is changing day by day.

 The productivity of major crop will undergo in shuffling phase due to scarcity of resources and country will face dilemma of food insecurity.

There is urgent need to use precision farming in order to make our agricultural systems less vulnerable to climate change. Farmers to use Drone Technology in Pakistan for Good Yield.

Government of Punjab has allowed Farmers to use Drone Technology in Pakistan for Good Yield. The use of Drone will enhance productivity of different crops. Agriculture department confirmed the news and revealed that Unmanned Aerial Vehicle drone will be used to monitor crops.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) drone is a small aircraft and the technology could be used for applications of pesticides on crops, monitoring of weeds, pests and nutritional deficiencies, geographical surveys of crops, area and water resources besides research and development.

Farmers who are interested to use this technology will have to submit application to agriculture deputy director of their relevant area. He will refer the application to the designated official.

 Proper analysis will be carried on and farmer will be granted no objection certificate after specifying the area, time and duration for the use of drone technology.

Government of Punjab is also planning to appoint a police officer with the operator at the time of flying.=DNA
