Three levies personnel martyred in blast near Pishin Bypass

QUETTA, (DNA) – At least three Levies personnel were martyred and another was injured in a roadside blast on Friday. The incident took place near Pishin Bypass in Balochistan. According to sources, the bomb targeted the Assistant Commissioner of Barshore’s car. The AC was not in the vehicle at the time of the attack. Security officials have cordoned off the blast site and launched search operation in the area to nab the suspects.


SC to hear ex-Pakpattan DPO transfer case on September 17

ISLAMABAD, (DNA) – The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Friday fixed the hearing of ex-Pakpattan District Police Officer (DPO) Rizwan Gondal’s transfer case for September 17. The court will conduct the proceedings over the inquiry report submitted by former Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Kaleem Imam. The report comprising of more than 27 pages contain statements of Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, Ahsan Jameel Iqbal Gujjar, CM’s personal staff officer Umar, chief security officer Haider Ali, Khawar Maneka, his son, daughter and police officers.


Foreign Minister of Turkey meets COAS Gen. Bajwa

RAWALPINDI, (DNA) – Mevlut Cavusoglu, Foreign Minister of Turkey called on General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) at GHQ. Focus of the discussion remained on Pak-Turkey relations, regional security including evolving situation in the Middle East, management of defence and security cooperation between both the countries. Turkish Foreign Minister acknowledged and appreciated Pakistan’s contributions for conflict prevention in the region and also pledged to keep working for better relations between the two brotherly countries.


IMF to visit Pakistan with $7.5bn package on 27 Sept

ISLAMABAD, (DNA)  –  After the ‘go ahead’ from the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, an International Monitory Fund (IMF) team is scheduled to visit Pakistan on September 27 with a bailout package of $7.5 billion. Sources told that the expected team was coming with a complete program of extended funds to Pakistan which would comprise the second part of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) arrangement. Kulsoom Nawaz’s funeral to be held in Lahore today

LAHORE, (DNA) – Former first lady Kulsoom Nawaz will be laid to rest today after her remains reached the provincial capital earlier on Friday. Kulsoom breathed her last on Tuesday after a protracted battle with cancer. Brother-in-law Shehbaz Sharif, daughter Asma Nawaz, sons of Hussain Nawaz and other Sharif family members accompanied the body from London to Lahore on a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight.
