Senate elections: PML-N wins 11 seats from Punjab

ISLAMABAD, MAR 03 (DNA) – Results have started pouring in after the polling time ended for elections to 52 seats of the Senate on Saturday. the ruling PML-N has won 11 seats of the Senate from Punjab. PML-N has won six general seats from Punjab Assembly, while votes for the seventh seat are being counted. Mushahid Hussain, other PML backed Senators win their seats

ISLAMABAD (DNA) – Mushahid Hussain Syed and other PML N backed candidates have won in Senate elections. Mushahid Hussain contested from Islamabad on technocrat seat. Asad Junejo also won from Islamabad. Likewise from Punjab also all PML N backed candidate won the seants. Former finance minister Ishaq Dar also won his seat. Mushahid Hussain got 223 votes while Asad Junejo got 214 votes. PTI  Kanwal Shuzab got 32 votes. Similarly PPP candidates have also won their seats.


China holds back US bid in UNSC against North Korea

Pakistan, US to hold crucial talks in Washington

ISLAMABAD, MAR 03 (DNA) – Pakistan and the United States will hold talks in Washington next week amid the persistent tension, officials said. Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua’s visit to Washington from March 6-8 was aimed at defusing the tension and finding “common ground”.
